A Local Garden Story - Twig Stars

"Use natural materials to decorate your space during winter.


Simply take 5 twigs and weave them through each other as shown, securing with whatever you have to hand. Willow or dogwood being pliable are ideal, but any bendy twigs will do. Here we have re-used plastic-coated wire but natural twine or wool would be prettier.


Then adorn your star with additional materials from the garden to make them even more decorative. This idea can be adapted to make a seasonal wreath at any time of year."


This is a much simpler way of using natural materials as an alternative to wreath-making and you can have herbs, edible flowers and weeds tied to them
