Greenwich Pop-up Kitchen

Pre-Covid, every month, a wonderful group of Community Food Champions deliver a community meal at various locations around the borough.  Using the most incredible surplus food from FareShare, we cook up an amazing meal full of goodness and invite the community in to eat, chat and enjoy.

These meals tick so many of our Good Food in Greenwich boxes – reducing the impact of food on the environment by using food that would otherwise have been wasted; building skills of volunteers in event planning and cooking; helping people access a delicious and healthy meal; building community connections and social opportunities for people to come together and commune over a bowl of steaming stew.

Sadly, due to current restrictions, our meals are suspended, but we hope to be up and running again soon.

Patrice, one of our wonderful cooks, said “Community meals are some awesome events not to be missed. It’s amazing to see the people sitting, eating and enjoying the meals.  This is an event I truly enjoy cooking monthly, which could not have happened without our volunteers’ dedication to helping out. Well done to us all, until next time!”

If you have a venue and you’d like to host a meal, or if you’d like to get involved in planning, organising the events, or volunteer to support on the day, we’d love to hear from you, so please do get in touch!
