Good Food in Greenwich teams up with Visit Greenwich!

  Posted on 10th January 2017

We’ve got some exciting news! The Good Food in Greenwich team recently met with Visit Greenwich to think about ways we can support each other to promote better food in the borough. Visit Greenwich provides up to date information about everything that’s happening in the borough – from events and activities, to all the top attractions to visit, to the best restaurants and cafes in the borough. Whether you’re a visitor or you work, live or study here, there’s plenty to find out about Greenwich on their website!

The Good FiG Charter

As you know, the aims of Good Food in Greenwich are to improve the food offer in the borough and encourage businesses to sign a pledge to make at least one change to support these aims. These pledges could be anything from buying our local produce, reducing the meat on their menu, signing up to the Healthier Catering Commitment, paying the London Living Wage, or support Breastfeeding, to name just a few. Visit Greenwich is now working with us to promote this to the businesses who are signed up to their website.

Also, we will be supporting businesses to get themselves featured on the Visit Greenwich website which has over 2 million hits per year! We think this is a fantastic way to promote Good Food and get more customers who demand better food when they are dining out. So please get involved! Next time you’re eating out in Greenwich, ask the manager where their Good Food in Greenwich charter is! Ask them to sign a pledge on our website and we’ll promote them as a Good Food Business and so will Visit Greenwich. But we can’t do it without you, so please do get involved!

If you’re a business, do get in touch to find out how we can support you to be fairer, healthier and more sustainable! Email mel@gcda.org.uk for more info
